TOP DOG OBEDIENCE SCHOOL CONGRATULATES

Belle at 11 weeks

Belle has opened the new world of dog training to me--not really by choice, as she was a very naughty puppy. Mostly, she thought that she led the household and we worked for her. She pulled on lead; she jumped on visitors and wouldn't let them go if they petted her; she would dash into the street after a hat or glove that someone had dropped (and sometimes would dash for a glove or scarf with a human attached). Belle was very, very smart--she opened doors (refrigerator included), closets, scaled gates or opened them. In any case, obedience training was a necessity. After a few years seeking trainers, we found Top Dog, and Belle has blossomed. It's taken some time as she finds Novice (heeling) exceptionally boring, but she finished her CD and RA. She's working on open and utility exercises--and enjoys them--thanks to Linda. Belle's passion is agility. So, Diane Goodspeed, is training us in what I call the Granny method of agility. I do little moving, and Belle does all the running. Belle loves it, and so she has consented to also do obedience, particularly if it involves dumbbells, jumping, gloves (of course) and other fun exercises along with that boring heeling. Thanks to Linda, my dogs put up with my limitations.
