Betsy's third rescue Golden Retriever, OTCh. Scapicchio's Custom Cruiser (Gilly), arrived in 1986, also at 18 months of age. Gilly had serious problems and had already been through three homes. Although she didn't intend to keep him, Gilly showed Betsy that he loved to learn and enjoyed working with her. This partnership produced a CD, CDX (both with Dog Worlds), and UD, all in eight months! Once again, Betsy was pregnant when she showed Gilly to his UD. Gilly's severe allergies and the birth of Betsy's third daughter, Lindsey, gave Gilly some time off after his UD. After a two-year retirement, Gilly returned to the ring and in 17 shows obtained his Obedience Trial Championship.
